The Global Day of Prayer Strategy follows the three parts of the beginning of the Church

according to Acts 1 & 2:

10 – 1 – 90

Ten days of constant prayer: 2-11 June 2011.

Beginning on Ascension Day, 2 June, millions of Christians will find ways to pray night and day

throughout the ten days leading to Pentecost Sunday and

the Global Day of Prayer: 12 June 2011.

On Pentecost Sunday, Christians in many countries will assemble to pray. Some will assemble in large stadiums and other public venues. Many will gather in small groups or in homes.

Ninety days of blessing: 13 June - 10 September 2011.

As in the first Pentecost, transformed Christians transform their communities as they offer themselves to God as instruments through which their prayers can be answered.

With only 8 days to go till the start of the 10 Days, we would like to encourage you to not miss out on this opportunity to unite with millions around the world.

The 10 Days of day and night prayer help us to gradually build a lifestyle of prayer in our communities, as well as to focus our prayers much wider than our personal and national needs.

· Praying the Lord’s Prayer.

To help us pray with united hearts and minds during the ten days before Pentecost, we’ll follow the prayer that our Lord taught us to pray.

· Praying great things.

We’re gathering to pray for God to fulfil the great things that He has promised: His transforming blessing in every people, and the life-giving glory of Christ’s Lordship in every community.

· Concerning deepest needs.

As we stretch our hearts in hope for what God has purposed, He will help us pray with confident clarity for the urgent needs of our families, cities and nations.

You are welcome to adapt the contents to suit your community’s/city’s/nation’s needs.

Youth and Children need to be encouraged to participate

and therefore a Youth- and Children’s Guide is also made available.

Joining Together In Three Ways...
The FINAL prayer gathering to mark the end of this endeavor was held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Rooseveldt-Nutt Hill Park in Plymouth.

The GDOP Plymouth Advisory Board and Organizing Team will meet to evaluate this corporate endeavor. The information and experience will be applied in consideration of future cooperative efforts.

The Brat Fry, Bake Sale, 50/50 Raffle and Silent Auction held Monday, September 20, at Kohler Company, hosted by Kohler Supply Chain Associates, Kim DeSombre-Long Coordinator, has deposited $4,228.21 to the Cindy Family Fund from its proceeds! A big thank you from Cindy's family and our team to all who were involved!

This site will continue to update the Cindy Family Project page until it is completed.

Progress Report #6

Parts 1 and 2 of the initiative have been completed with great success:
Part 1: May 13 through May 22, 2010. Ten Days of Constant Prayer.
We had between 2 and 14 individuals gather for prayer morning, noon and evening each of the ten days. Many individuals were using the GDOP Ten Days of Continuous Prayer guides distributed through our churches. We've had tremendous feed back on what a blessing it was to pray together in unity and harmony! Many positive comments have been received about the Prayer Room which operated in the space next to Sun Graphics. Many positive comments have been received about praying together in the different churches each evening as well!

A special note of thanks to Terry Evans of Sun Graphics for donating the use of the Quiznos space for our dedicated prayer room!

Part 2: May 23, 2010. The Global Day of Prayer.
We had between 45 and 55 people come together for our Pentecost Sunday service at Riverview Middle School. At least seven different churches were represented. What a wonderful time of worship and intercession! Many commented that they couldn't believe 90 minutes had passed so quickly! The sense that we had gathered with our brothers and sisters from around the globe on this day added a profound perspective to the prayers we together lifted before the Throne.

Progress Report #5

Amazing things are happening with the GDOP Plymouth effort!

Our early morning and noon prayer room attendance has been steady with attendance each of the nine times it has been open. The evening prayer meetings have also been well attended with more than one church represented at each gathering so far.

You have received email updates from Arlyne Heinig regarding the 90 Days of Blessing Carlson Family Project. God continues to amaze us with how He has brought people together who are willing to meet the significant needs in their lives. I see the opportunities to work closely with those outside of our little GDOP Plymouth group as yet another opportunity God has given us to bring Him glory in our community.

I've included our GDOP Plymouth prayer list. (For those of you who requested daily prayer prompts the following list will be a duplicate.)

May God bless you in specific ways today!

Progress Report #4

Promotion - press releases have gone out to local papers, twice daily prayer radio spots will begin May 13, there is a possibility of a human interest story being done by the Review as well. The NDOP breakfast at Plymouth City Hall will have a short visual and verbal promo with an info table set up. This week a bulletin insert will be sent to area churches. Sponsoring churches and organizations will be receiving promo posters and a 50 pack of prayer guides at the NDOP breakfast. Our web site continues to get visitors and we have been able to share some of our planning resources with the GDOP in Fredrickson, VA.

Prayer Area - the prayer gathering, prayer walk/drive, and individual prayer and fasting schedules for the 10 Days of Continuous Prayer and 90 Days of Blessing are now complete and posted on the "Prayer" page of the web site.

Currently, we have 20 individuals receiving our 40 day count down email prayer prompts and list of prayer needs for the GDOP Plymouth. If you would like to interceed for us in this way send an email to gdopplymouth@gmail.com and type "40 day count down" in the subject area.
We have a dedicated prayer room for early morning and noon hour prayer each of the 10 Days! Praise God! This is an answer to prayer! It is a good location with easy access in a nice building; the former Quiznos on Eastern Avenue in Plymouth. Terry, from Sun Graphics, owns the building and is allowing us to use the space free of charge. Please ask the Lord to bless him and cause his business to prosper. The prayer room will be open from 5:30-7 am and noon till 1 pm daily from May 13-22. We may close the prayer room on Sunday, May 16. We will have a specific prayer emphasis each day and various prayer topic stations to choose from within the room as well. A host/hostess will be present and will lead some guided prayer. We are looking for those willing to help get this room set up prior to May 13 and those who may be willing to host a morning or noon session at the prayer room.
Each of the sponsoring churches will host an evening prayer gathering during the 10 Days. There will be a daily prayer focus and leader for each of these gatherings.
We hope to have 200 people commit to using the 10 Day Prayer Guide as well but, we are still working on the logistics of getting this commitment.
We are making email prayer prompts available for each of the 10 days. Sign up by sending an email to gdopplymouth@gmail.com and typing "10 day prayer prompts" in the subject area.
There are two dates chosen for prayer walks/drives to cover our community; Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, July 25. Appropriate routes are being mapped for walking and driving in teams of two or four. Routes will be chosen and assigned according to need and response. They will launch together from one location and then have the option to come back together at the end for a time of reporting/sharing their experiences on the route.
Monthly prayer gatherings will be held at Rooseveldt-Nutt Hill Park in Plymouth from June-September.
Individuals may sign up to commit to fast and pray one day each month during June, July and August. Ideally we will have each of the 90 days covered.

G Day Area (Pentecost Sunday service) - is ready with only a few minor details to work out. We are very excited about this service which the Advisory Board pastors have developed! It promises to be very dynamic and meaningful for any who participate and will certainly bring glory to our Lord Jesus! Child care will be available for those age 3 and under.

90 Days Area - we identified three targets for our first 90 Day effort: help an individual or family in need, improve our community in a tangible way and pray specifically for our community. The Organizing Team has chosen the two projects, and again, this is an answer to prayer! We will be serving a family in Elkhart Lake and we will be doing a community clean up project in Plymouth. The Plymouth project will be chosen from a list received from community leaders. More specific details on these projects will be available very soon. The specific prayer for our communtiy has also been planned and is described in detail within the Prayer Area report.

Involvement Area - this area will become much more active as the 10 Days commence and the 90 Days projects are developed. Susie is gearing up as the people resource go to/contact person. She will be aware of all the needs and opportunities we plan for blessing our community and will be seeking people to fill those needs by working closely with project heads and church mobilizers.

Coordinators - are now taking bulk orders for prayer guides. $30 for a 100 pack. You may order less than that and we will consolidate orders for the best price. Contact us by phone or email to place your order ASAP. Orders need to be placed by May 6 to avoid expedited shipping costs.

Greetings participants and GDOP coordinators,

Are things stirring in your city? We are about 30 days out from this year’s Global Day of Prayer on May 23, 2010. In 2009, every nation across the globe participated in GDOP. We are not there yet for 2010, but are praying and expectant to hear from the last few countries that have yet to plan a gathering.

As you probably know, the GDOP is not really about having a big event, or upgrading the reputation of the churches in a city. The Global Day of Prayer is a solemn call of God to His people to come before Him in repentance and to welcome our Lord to transform our communities. We seek to honor Him at the prayer gathering and in the planning process as well.

Let us cover the nations with day and night prayer from May 13–22 as we prepare to gather in unity on Pentecost Sunday, May 23. Each of the ten days has an emphasis that comes from Joel 2—turning to God because He desires to dwell with us. Joel’s appeal is focused on the hope of repentance and all the goodness that God desires to bring forth.

• NDOP Breakfast promo will be video and power point with a manned info table in the room. Info packets with prayer guides, posters and CD/DVD's will be made available that day as well.
Pentecost Sunday Service
• The service outline looks great! Is almost there but still needs a few things. Will know more next week. We we're all very excited with the plan so far!
90 Days - Many leads are coming together, next week we will have more concrete info.

• Chamber of Commerce gave a list of names to contact about needs

• Needs will be discussed with the Mayor this coming week
• Will also be contacting the school district building and grounds person

• Have one nomination for a family in need so far

Prayer - More developed prayer plan includes:

• radio spots (Bill Horsch and Bill Kraus)

• Gay is working on the daily web prayer postings

• We have the possibility of the Gateway Center (preferred) or the Youth Center for our neutral morning and noon gatherings. Gay is working on prayer stations for the morning and noon gatherings that will fit either circumstance/venue. Be in prayer that the Gateway will be ready for us so that a prayer room could be developed.

• Evening prayer gatherings are scheduled from 6:30-7:30 pm and dates are confirmed with sponsoring churches.

• Pentecost Sunday "pray for an hour" and "prayer and fasting" logistics still need to be developed.

• 90 Day Nutt Hill gathering needs to be confirmed,

• Prayer walk/drive guides for towns in north west quadrant of the county (sponsoring churches reside within these)are scheduled and being developed by Arlyne and Rich.

Prayer Area Update, March 17, 2010

A prayer plan for the 10-1-90 has been developed and we will be working to flesh it out in the weeks ahead:

• Pre GDOP 10-1-90 we are seeking existing prayer groups and intercessors that would be willing to add the GDOP to their regular prayers for the duration of the endeavor. We would like to have these intercessors in place on or before Tuesday, April 13. We are also seeking 200 people to commit to using the 10 day prayer guides. We would like to have these committments on or before April 13.
• For the 10 Days of Continuous Prayer radio spots are being developed to air twice daily, prayer guides along with daily email and website prayer prompts are being made available. Daily corporate prayer meetings at varied times will be scheduled at one neutral location and at the facilitating churches.
• At the 1 GDOP Pentecost Sunday prayer gathering we will make available prayer models for adults, teens and children to learn how to pray for our community and the world. We will also seek to enlist 30 people who will fast and pray one day each month of the 90 Days of Blessing so that prayer with fasting will be continuous throughout those days. We will have a sign up sheet for this both on line and at the event venue.
• Along with the fasting and prayer for the 90 Days of Blessing, monthly prayer gatherings at a neutral location will be planned as well as two prayer walk/drives to cover selected areas of our community in prayer.

Joining together in three ways:

Part 1: May 13 through May 22, 2010. Ten days of constant prayer. On the evening of Ascension Day,
May 13, millions the world over will begin by joining their prayers night and day for ten days.

Here in our community we will have twice daily radio broadcasts to lead us in prayer, corporate prayer opportunities at local churches each day, and individual prayer opportunities through email, the internet, and prayer guides.

Part 2: May 23, 2010. The Global Day of Prayer. On Pentecost Sunday, Christians in many lands are planning to assemble in massive gatherings in stadiums and open squares. In other places, believers will gather in homes and other public venues. To help connect and align prayers even more, there will be three hours of live prayer broadcast. The signal will be relayed by satellite, radio and Internet so that many millions will be linked simultaneously all over the world. The same broadcast will be repeated so that people in any time zone can take part on Pentecost afternoon or evening.

Here in our community we will be gathering at Riverview Middle School in Plymouth at 3 pm.

Part 3: June, July & August, 2010. Ninety Days of Blessing. As in the first Pentecost, transformed Christians transform their communities, becoming the answer to their own prayers. The Global Day of Prayer anticipates the forming or furthering of local alliances among pastors, congregations, mission agencies, and business leaders to bring practical, transformational blessing to their cities and communities.

Here in our community we are planning projects that will be a blessing in three specific ways:

by helping an individual or family in need
by serving to improve our community in a tangible way
and by praying specifically for our community

2010 Progress Report #1

The Organizing Team (OT) has been established and has begun planning for our first official Global Day of Prayer Plymouth! Our next OT meeting will be on Wednesday, March 17. We are all very excited about the interest and potential of this cooperative effort! There are five local churches and one local ministry committed to facilitating the GDOP Plymouth this year.

The Advisory Board has established the outline for the GDOP Service and will soon begin to flesh it out. Arlyne Acasio-Heinig from Plymouth is overseeing this area as she serves on the Organizing Team.

Many options for individual and corporate prayer have been discussed and at our next meeting the OT will begin to consider which options will be best to develop this year. We have the immediate need of people who are willing to pray for the organizers and our community as we plan and prepare. Rich York from Plymouth is overseeing the Prayer Area as he serves on the Organizing Team.

Susie Williams from Plymouth will be overseeing the Involvement Area as she serves on the Organizing Team. Right now this area is in need of an individual from each local congregation which plans to participate to serve as their church mobilizer. The church mobilizer will serve as the liaison between the OT and their local congregation, making sure their church family is well informed of GDOP needs and connecting those from their fellowship to the opportunities available.

We also began discussing possibilities for serving our community during the 90 Days of Blessing in June, July & August. Dorcas George from New Holstein will be overseeing this area as she serves on the Organizing Team. She will be seeking input from community leaders and area pastors. Bill Horsch from Sheboygan and Gay Borgenhagen from Cascade are together serving as Coordinators and will be overseeing media promotion other administrative responsibilities while serving on the Organizing Team and as liaisons to the Advisory Board.

Plymouth Is Joining In!

Across the globe, hundreds of millions of Christians are planning to meet together in churches, stadiums, parks and homes for the seventh annual Global Day of Prayer held on Pentecost Sunday. This year, churches in Plymouth & Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin will again be joining an anticipated 220 countries around the world by hosting several prayer and service events before, during and after the Global Day of Prayer on June 12, 2011.

This year marks the 7th official Global Day of Prayer. This prayer movement started at the turn of the millennium when many Christians in Cape Town, South Africa, sensed a calling to assemble in prayer and to seek God. When the invitation went out to the people across their country to assemble in united prayer for their cities and nation, people filled halls and stadiums of every size. Year after year, millions more sought God together from almost every stream or tradition of Christian faith in every country of the African continent. In 2005, the African Christians invited the world to join them and the result was the first Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost Sunday in 2005, drawing an estimated 200 million people.

In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and again in 2010, on Pentecost Sunday, millions of Christians gathered in almost every country on earth. The movement continues to spread and deepen and this year on June 12, 2011, Christians in the Plymouth/Elkhart Lake area will join the movement by gathering to pray and repent with sincere hearts and united hopes.

In addition to the events held on Pentecost Sunday, there are also prayer meetings being established for the 10 days prior to the event and special service opportunities being offered for the 90 days following the event. Christians from every faith tradition are being encouraged to participate in this worldwide prayer gathering.
