2010 Progress Report #2

The Organizing Team met on March 17th. Our next meeting will be March 31st.

Area Reports

Prayer - A prayer plan for the 10-1-90 has been developed and we will be working to flesh it out in the weeks ahead:

• Pre GDOP 10-1-90 we are seeking existing prayer groups that would be willing to add the GDOP to their regular prayers for the duration of the endeavor. We are also seeking 200 people to commit to using the 10 day prayer guides.
• For the 10 Days of Continuous Prayer radio spots are being developed to air twice daily, prayer guides along with daily email and website prayer prompts are being made available. Daily corporate prayer meetings at varied times will be scheduled at one neutral location and at the facilitating churches.
• At the 1 GDOP Pentecost Sunday prayer gathering we will make available prayer models for adults, teens and children to learn how to pray for our community and the world. We will also seek to enlist 30 people who will fast and pray one day each month of the 90 Days of Blessing so that prayer with fasting will be continuous throughout those days.
• Along with the fasting and prayer for the 90 Days of Blessing monthly prayer gatherings at a neutral location will be planned as well as two prayer walk/drives to cover selected areas of our community in prayer.

GDOP Pentecost Sunday - Advisory Board pastors are still working on the program.

90 Days of Blessing - Opportunities to be a blessing

1. to an individual or family in our community,
2. to improve our community in a tangible way and
3. discovering prayer needs specific to our community are being researched. Information or ideas toward these ends are needed and welcome.

Involvement - Contacts are being established and this week communicating needs and opportunities with the mobilizers of participating churches.

Coordinators - Are seeking promotion at the Community Good Friday service (video spot and hand out), preparing press release and local media promotion to begin the week of April 5, preparing radio spots for 10 Days, preparing 'seed info' sheet appropriate for distribution, ordering 10 Day prayer guides.

Timeline target dates to be aware of:

• Friday, April 2 - Community Good Friday service and GDOP promo
• Monday, April 5 - local media promotion begins
• Tuesday, April 13 - have GDOP intercessors enlisted
• Friday, April 16 - (or earlier) Pentecost Sunday service plan complete
• Thursday, May 6 - National Day of Prayer breakfast and GDOP promo
• Thursday, May 13 - 10 Days of Continuous Prayer begins
